Art and Culture Activity

We have chosen Wau as our Art and Culture activity. The word 'Wau' is believed to have been derived from the Arabic letter 'Wau' because the shape of the wing resembles the outline of that particular letter. Many legends and local folklore said that in the past, the farmers used Wau to ward off birds from their paddy fields. Futhermore, the sounds made by the Wau once it was airborne was said to lull their children to sleep which in turn gave the farmers ample time to tend to their crops without distractions.
Wau is one of the traditional games contains elements of authentic Malay culture. We choose to preserve Wau because it is a unique traditional games that is needed to maintain it's originality and traditional culture. It is then, the traditional games is not going to fade away and we could continue the tradition of these traditional games for the next hereditary.
Other than that, the next young generation could learn about the history of their culture and bring a lot of benefit for them indeed. For example, they will discover something new and at the same time learn to appreciate culture and art traditional games.
Besides, the traditional games is actually full with physical activity that may increase social skills and creativity. If the traditional games is exposed to the younger children, it helps to stimulate their growth physically as well as intellectually.
If the art and culture activity is planned to destroy or stopped by other people, I will them that the originality of the traditional culture is important to be preserved. The activity is actually contributes to logical thinking, mathematical and civic education. Moreover, traditional games reflect cultural diversity, and foster mutual understanding and tolerance among communities and nations. Besides, I would like to ask the communities together always spend their leisure times by playing traditional games to avoid the disappears of the traditional culture.
